Tighten your laces and shoot out over the ice at Rinky Dink—RISING’s ice-skating takeover of the Sidney Myer Music Bowl main stage.
Be part of a beloved Melbourne tradition, on hiatus for over two decades. The sounds of skates shaving ice are back, reverberating around the Bowl as young and old whizz, wobble and glide across the rink. And if you’re lucky, you might even hear our Night Chorus belting out ‘80s and ‘90s hits while you’re at it.
You’ll need to sign a waiver before hitting the ice, but skating is appropriate for both new and experienced skaters. Sessions are limited and include entry to The Wilds.
Note: Children under 12 must be accompanied by an ice-skating adult.
Session Details
WED 1—SUN 19 JUNE
SKATING EVERY 30 MINUTES FROM 5.15PM
SUN—THU, LAST SKATE 9.15PM
FRI—SAT, LATE SKATE 10.15PM
CLOSED ON MONDAYS
- Duration | Total session time is 40 mins (incl. skates on, signing waiver and 30mins of skating time)
- Children | Children under 3 years old are not permitted to skate. Children under 12 years old require adult supervision on the ice.
- Waiver | Skaters will be required to sign a waiver to skate.
- Intoxication | Intoxicated patrons will not be permitted to skate. Refunds will not be given to those denied entry to the rink.
- Note | Ticket includes entry to The Wilds
- Session Times | Session times indicate the time you must arrive at the ice rink to get your skates on. Please arrive at The Wilds minimum 15 minutes prior to avoid missing your skate time, latecomers may not be permitted to skate
- Night Chorus | Times:
Wed, Thu and Sun: 5.40PM, 6.40PM, 8.10PM and 9.10PM
Fri and Sat: 5.40PM, 6.40PM, 8.10PM, 9.10PM and 10.10PM
