Annea Lockwood’s curiosity of and appreciation for the dynamism of the world is long and well documented. Her legendary work World Rhythms, first performed in 1975, is an epic multichannel concert accompanied by Vanessa Tomlinson.
While it has been available as a stereo piece published by the XI label, the work has not been performed publicly for over three decades. Working from the original source materials, Lawrence English, under the guidance of Annea Lockwood has remastered each channel of the work.
The result is a completely revised version of the piece, which highlights Lockwood's unique approaches to found sound, instrumentation and spatial dynamics. World Rhythms will be diffused by Lawrence English and he is joined by percussionist extraordinaire Vanessa Tomlinson.
