Golden Square is RISING’s swirling art car park—three levels of art, performance, parades and rooftop bars.
Smack bang in the middle of the longest continuous Chinatown in the West is a twisting maze of contemporary art. Cultures, religions and identities overlap with new iterations of centuries-old folklore. Rough concrete pillars, glowing pyramids and a capitalist mega-church are the architecture of our multi-level exhibition of ritual, mythology and digital spirituality.
Grab a drink and enter the fun-flux of spacetime. Blackhearts & Sparrows are serving up new-wave wine born from ancient traditions. There are cocktails and sacrilegious merch items too, dip your hand in one or both—sticky fingers be damned (or blessed).

- Duration | Allow one hour for exploration
- Entrance | Enter via 228 Little Bourke Street
- Last Entry | Final entry for Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday is 10PM; Friday and Saturday, 11PM
- Note | This is a licensed venue. Visitors under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Tickets not required for children under 2. Please be aware there is a narrow staircase to access the rooftop and no pram parking on site.
- Weather | Golden Square is an all-weather event. Some areas of the site are exposed to the elements
- Parade for the Moon Performance times | 7.30PM and 9PM each night
- The White Waters performance times | Wed-Thu, Sun: 5.45PM, 6.40PM, 8.15PM, 9.10PM, 10.10PM | Fri-Sat: 6PM, 6.55PM, 8.30PM, 9.30PM, 10.30PM

- Assisted Access | Sun—Thu, 5.30—10.30PM and Fri—Sat, 5.30—11.30PM
- This activation takes place in a multi-level car park that does not have lift access. RISING is operating a buggy service for those who may require access assistance. If you'd like to enquire about booking the buggy service for members of your party to access the exhibition, please contact the customer service team on (03)9662 4242 or ticketing@rising.melbourne. Please note there are some sessions excluded from buggy service access due to performances within the space.
